Terms of use

DiasporaJobs lists jobs, fellowships, internships, events, and other opportunities that center diaspora work, recruit diaspora professionals, or call for skills they bring. We review listings before they publish. Applications happen on each employer’s own site, and hiring decisions belong to employers alone.

• Give accurate information and keep your sign-in email secure.
• Organizations must sign up with an email address at their own domain or pass our verification.
• You’re responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you suspect misuse.

• Post only real, current opportunities that your organization is authorized to fill or host.
• Describe the role, pay, location, and requirements accurately.
• Never charge applicants a fee to apply, interview, or be hired, and never ask for payment or bank details during recruiting.
• Follow all employment, anti-discrimination, immigration, and pay-transparency laws that apply to your listing. See our equal opportunity statement.
• Remove or update listings that are filled or changed.

Each organization receives one free published listing for the life of its account. Additional listings require a paid Unlimited Listings plan, billed monthly or yearly through Stripe at the prices shown on our pricing page. You can cancel a plan at any time; it stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and listings published during the plan stay up until they expire.

We may approve, decline, edit for formatting, or remove any listing, and suspend any account, at our discretion, including for listings that don’t fit DiasporaJobs or that appear unsafe or misleading. You keep ownership of what you post and give The Diaspora Academy a license to display, distribute, and promote it, including through search engines, email alerts, and our newsletter.

• Don’t scrape, copy in bulk, or resell listings or data from the site.
• Don’t try to access other people’s accounts or interfere with the site’s operation.
• Don’t use the site to harass, defraud, or discriminate against anyone.

We work to keep listings accurate and safe, but we can’t verify every detail or guarantee any outcome. Use your own judgment before applying or sharing personal information with an employer. Links to employers’ sites are provided for convenience, and their content and practices are their own.

DiasporaJobs is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, The Diaspora Academy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.

We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA. Questions go to jobs@thediasporaacademy.com. See also our privacy policy.
