Privacy policy
Effective October 9, 2026
DiasporaJobs is run by The Diaspora Academy LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect only what the site needs to work.
- Account details: your name and email address, and for organizations, the organization’s name, website, type, sector, and headquarters country.
- Listings: the opportunities organizations submit, including descriptions, locations, pay ranges, and application links.
- Your activity: the opportunities you save and the search alerts you set up.
- Technical data: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs such as IP address and browser type, kept for security and troubleshooting.
We don’t ask job seekers for résumés, country of origin, gender, or other personal background at this time.
How we use it
- To run your account, send sign-in links, and show your saved opportunities and alerts.
- To review listings before they publish, including automated checks for fit and safety, and to email organizations the outcome.
- To send the job alerts you request, at the frequency you choose.
- To send The Diaspora Academy newsletter, only if you opted in when you created your account.
- To understand, in aggregate, which sectors, regions, and opportunity types are in demand, so we can improve the site and our work with diaspora communities.
We don’t sell your personal information.
Who helps us run the site
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate DiasporaJobs:
- Supabase stores accounts and listings and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Resend sends sign-in, review, and alert emails.
- Anthropic powers the automated review of submitted listings. Listing content, along with the organization’s name and website, is sent for review. Job seekers’ information is not.
- Kit manages the newsletter for people who opt in.
- Airtable and Slack hold organization contact details and review notifications for The Diaspora Academy team.
Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries.
Your choices
- Turn off any alert from your account page or the link in each alert email.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter from any newsletter email.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing jobs@thediasporaacademy.com. We respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, and some U.S. states, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us to use them.
How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. Listings stay in our records after they expire so organizations can see their history and we can report on trends. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations.
Security
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit each account to its own data, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us right away if you notice anything unusual.
Children
DiasporaJobs is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes and contact
When we update this policy, we change the effective date above and, for significant changes, email account holders. Questions go to jobs@thediasporaacademy.com. See also our terms of use.
